Trying new things...

I don't know if you guys remember or if I said anything to begin with. BUT, Rick and I are on Weight Watchers. We both have been doing quite well. We are excited that this isn't a diet but a lifestyle change. We are learning that we need to eat better food choices and better portion sizes too. When we first started we got from Barnes & Noble the Weight Watchers - New Complete Cookbook.

There are over 500 recipes, I have tried 6 different recipes. I have at least another 25 recipes that I want to try. This past week I tried the Quick Gumbo. It is filling for the number of points that it is. When I was making it I thought of my dear friends Kade & Allison Stewart, because when I first met them...they served us as Outdoor Educators Gumbo. It was really good and full of flavor. Mine was good, full of flavor; but not as good as Kade's.

I am excited to thumb through my cookbook so I can share some good, healthy recipes for Christmas. To do some experimenting in the kitchen. :)

I will let you know how they turn out when they happen.

On a family note...Rick has his LAST exam for the Fall semester of his 2nd year of Medical School. (Maybe...right now we are listening to the freezing rain fall upon our area) Ezekiel will be 4 months old on Saturday. He is already 15 lbs and some of his clothes are 6 month old!
Below is a picture that I took of him today sleeping while I was finishing up wrapping up presents. He really is such a sweet baby boy! God has blessed me, I am lucky and have enjoyed EVERY moment with my little family!

  1. Awww! There's just nothing like a sleeping baby, eh? He really is SO sweet!

And good for you about the whole weight watchers thing... it seems like a good way to lose because of the life style changes your making. I wish success for you both! : )
