Sunday of Fun!

Sunday we had a wonderful day here in Colorado...with Rick, Tom, Jean, Zeke and Aspen.
We wanted to visit some from friends from Christ Community Church in Greeley...it's where we used to go to church when we lived in Greeley. However we wanted to check out the new (well new to us) addition to the church it's called Zoe's. Check it out here... We enjoyed it and the kids had a good time in there little classes too. We even got to see our dear friends Phil and Nicole and decided to get together for dinner the week afterwards.
Then we went to eat lunch.
Then we went off to the mountains. We originally just talked about going to Estes Park and into Rocky Mountain National Park. However Rick wanted to take me to the place where he proposed to me to. Here are some of the pictures from our Sunday. From the proposal place to Rocky Mountain National Park, Zeke fell asleep. So we hardly have any pics of him. Here are the pictures from our Sunday...
 Rick and Zeke at the trail head for the spot where Rick proposed...Zeke stayed with Grandma & Grandpa in the field/car.

Rick happy in the mountains...
 Rick and I at the spot where he proposed...6 years before that.
The View...LOVELY!

We are in Rocky Mountain National Park...and Aspen LOVED looking at the animals...she was awed by the Elk
Morraine Park in Rocky Mountain National Park...where Rick and I got married...it's the grove of trees on the left.

Rocky Mountain National Park

St Malo Church
 Aspen just wanted to climb and explore there...
 Rick and Aspen...Aspen loved being out of the car.
 Rick throwing Aspen in the air...Aspen LOVING it!

 On the way back to the house...we ended up seeing some cars stopped on the side of the road and then we found these Bighorn Sheep there...SO we stopped and took some pics too.
 Then...something happened and SMACK a major head butt!
 Then the dazed feeling afterwards
 the one guy was off to the side for a while...he must of offended the others...
So that was Sunday...a fun day in the mountains with family!

the things you learn...

...from watching videos on you tube or the thing that my husband learns...
So for the past couple days I kept complaining about my hair style (or basically my lack of style). It would only do what I wanted it to do RIGHT after I styled it and it would only last for about an hour.
I guess I "complained" about it long enough where my husband sat on the couch and watched youtube videos. The kids were sleeping and he said if you want me to cut your hair we should do it now. So I sat in the chair...my thoughts were #1 it's just hair it grows back, #2 a FREE hair cut, #3 ANYTHING is better than what I have now. SO I had my first every silent hair cut.
Be the judge for yourself with my hair cut...I think that Rick did a really good job for his first hair cut.
 oh no I created a "crazy" man!
 There are for sure spots that need to get fixed but over all my husband did a GREAT job.

still alive...

 ...here in Iowa. The weather has been beautiful...now only if our sinuses will catch up with it will be great. We all have had some sort of the change of season cold, this weekend was a wonderful "chilled" weekend for getting rid of the junk.
Seeing that last weekend I was suppose to have a house party it has been cleaned since then. Which is nice. So just a little pick up every night (of course after the kids are asleep in their beds and can't get it messy until the next morning is helpful.) Also the thing of putting clean clothes away right after washing, drying and folding is a big thing too.
So this weekend, was very relaxing!!! Rick let me go grocery shopping while he watched the kids...and I have meals planned for the next 2 weeks (hopefully it can stretch that far) However I usually make plenty and we have left overs a couple times or I freeze it and then I can pull it out later.
I also have set a theme and a date for Aspen's 1st Birthday Party! We will be having it before her actual party because it's hard to party on a Tuesday. I wish that more of our family can be here for it...but I'm sure that we will have a great time, none the less. However you will have to wait for that to actually happen and pics and all that jazz will be put up on here. I can't believe in 1 month I will have a 1 year old!!! The time really does fly!
Z has been trying to figure out if he needs a nap or if he doesn't need a nap. Today he didn't have a nap YET he was in bed sleeping by 8:00pm (he might of went to bed early...but I am SO nervous that he's going to wake up at the crack of dawn in the morning!) I'm SO excited because he will have 4 days of preschool this coming week! He does really well with school. On Friday of last week he didn't have school and he was like "what am I doing home...shouldn't I be at school?" He's doing very well in his potty learning too...which is wonderful! Now if only we can be "trained" when we take him out and about...usually it's pretty good but what do I do about park or outdoor play where there is no bathroom and it's a public area?
Rick is enjoying his last Fellowship block...but there is some traveling that is going to take place in the coming month. He will be going to Pennsylvania for part of his testing...where you see patients and then write notes on them and blah, blah, blah. So he will be gone for like 2 days and a night (hopefully). Then at the end of the month he has an interview and a conference down in Florida...the kids and I are HOPING to get down there too...because we will get to see Gramps, Grammy and Aunt Becs for a whole week! So PLEASE pray that the plane tickets go down so that we can get those. PLEASE!!!
Well...I'm just being me...staying busy. My "normal" routine looks something like --- Drive Rick to school/work, Drive Z to preschool, have Aspen & mommy time (this looks like a lot of different things; such as naps, girlie movies, helping mommy start fixing dinner (seriously I'm IN LOVE with my crockpot), singing, dancing, learning, go on an outing (play date, store, library) and so much more), pick up Z from preschool, lunch, naps, pick up Rick from school/work, and then usually every night of the week it's different. Stuff with small group from church, bra business, knitting club, family night. It's worked out nicely that we have dinner around the table nightly around the table which is AWESOME!
I still have had some pain in my joints and such (going to see the doctor again tomorrow about it) so hopefully we can have some answers on that soon...BECAUSE I have some stuff that needs to get finished knitting (a shrug for Aspen and a sweater for Aspen that need to get finished!) PLUS I have to get to Rick and my hat for this winter (all the colors match Z and Aspen's hat...yes...we are doing matching hats this winter) ALONG with the fact that I'm having a niece ("Tink" short for Tinkerbell) and nephew ("Tank") born in the next coming 5 months SO I got to knit them something from Aunt Trina, even though they live down south. Names in the parenthesis are names I picked out as nicknames for them...this way I can call them when they get older "Tink" and "Tank" I think they might get into trouble together. ;)

Happy Friendship Day!

~First of all Happy Friendship Day...Thanks for being my friend and reading my blog. Also if you have been "stalking" my blog PLEASE take some time and just leave a comment so I can meet you!

~~Second of all I want to tell you how much CELEBRATING that we get to do in August...
In our immediate family there are 4 Anniversaries (including ours!)
In our immediate family there are 5 Birthdays (including little "Z-Man's")
Our little family of 3 is going to be going to COLORADO for 4 weeks at the end August!
Our little family gets to go to the Iowa State Fair this year (the first year-I arrived to late, the second year-I was 9 months pregnant, last year-I couldn't talk Rick into taking us) THIS year I talked about how Z would LOVE to go and see the animals and everything so we get to go!!!
Our brother (in-law, David) is back in the United States for his R&R from Iraq for 15 days!!!

~~~Third & Lastly, I am so enjoying this age that my son is at!!! He makes us laugh, he is learning a lot of new things (colors, animals, words, etc.), he knows where his baby sister is and he likes to pull up my shirt and give her kisses and hugs through my skin. He loves to cuddle with us & he sat through his first movie yesterday.
I hope that you had a great weekend and GOD Bless!
Baby Girl Headband
So I have been asked (by people on Facebook) to share my Baby Headband. So I thought I would just direct people here and then they could have it! And I wanted to share with you some of my "creating" with fiber. So with no-further delay...
Baby Headband…
Materials Needed: (This is what I used)
Worsted Weight yarn (you truly don’t need a full skein)
Size 6 (4.0mm) 12” circular needles
Stitch Marker
Flower for decoration after done.
I have done 2 different sizes. The top (white with pink flower) is 12.5 inches around (cast on number regular). The Brown and Blue is 14.5 inches around (cast on number in BOLD). You just have to change your cast on stitches to change the circumference of the headband.
Pattern:
Cast on: 60, 70 sts.
Row 1: Knit (k)
Row 2: Purl (p)
Row 3 & 5: K
Row 4: P
Row 6: Knit 2 together (k2tog), yarn over needle (yo) (until the end)
Row 7: K
Row 8,10: k2tog, yo (until the end)
Row 9, 11: k
Row 12, 14: p
Row 13, 15: k
Row 16: Bind off knit wise
Weave in ends and add embellishments as you would like :)
You can always add another knit 2 together, yo row followed by a knit row to add to the “lattice” effect.
This pattern was made-up and burrowed from “Lattice Hat Knitting Pattern” found on Ravelry.com
The White one with the Pink flower is for Baby Girl's newborn shot that screams GIRL (hopefully the ultrasound tech was correct)
The Brown one has a couple other "simple" flowers on clips to change the look of it. I just don't have any pics of the flowers to show you.
I believe that I'm going to start selling a set of 3 headbands with 6-7 flowers on the Crafted Together Blog. I just have to figure out what to ask money wise for it...any suggestions. The flowers would be the "simple" flowers. Well I do believe that is it for today. I will blog more tomorrow. I have a tribute to my husband I would like to make. :) But for right now...I have to write out my book report for a book that is coming out in August...I can't put it out just now but I also just finished the book last night so I have to write about it before I forget about it. :)
just because...
As I'm sitting here on a Sunday afternoon. Rick (my husband) is napping, Z-Man you guessed it is napping too and I'm watching the Cubs play the White Sox in their cross-town rivals...and the Cubs are winning right now. So there a number of blogs that I follow that ended up doing this...you can find them Life at 7000 ft, A Familiar Path,or Jewels in My Crown. I thought it would be fun to just go ahead and be a follower and let you know what's going on RIGHT now!
So here you go...most likely pics at the bottom for some added fun!
What color are your socks right now? No socks, just bare feet.
What are you listening to right now? the soft snore of my husband, the Cubs & White Sox game, and the sound that my fingers make on the keys.
What is your favorite sport to watch on TV? I'm not sure what my favorite sport is to watch on TV, I like to watch baseball (but usually only the Cubs), I like football (usually college but I like to watch the Broncos play), usually I don't argue about watching sports...I like it and it's easy to knit while I watch it.
What is your favorite drink? Diet Dr. Pepper or Diet Pepsi...I do love some good Tea (usually Gong Fu Tea)..hot or cold depending on the weather outside or how I feel.
Have you ever dyed your hair? yes I have...and thinking that I need a new hairstyle and highlight for my birthday
Favorite food? I love fresh fruit and fresh veggies...I like mahi mahi, baked potatoes with broccoli and cheese...(I don't make it because these are all foods that my husband doesn't like) I also like FROZEN custard...YUM!
What was your favorite toy as a child? hmm...I don't truly think I had a favorite toy.
Favorite Season? hmmm there are so many good things about all of them, Winter (the snow makes me think of clean hearts after Jesus saves me), Spring (for all the new life and vibrant colors), Summer (for the warmth and BASEBALL), Fall (for the start of the crispness and the wonderfull fall colors)...I think my favorite though is Summer
Cherries or Blueberries? Blueberries, Cherries give my heartburn REALLY bad
Living situation? I'm married to Rick, we have a 22 month old Son (Z-Man), we also have a little baby girl on the way (coming in October) we live in Des Moines, Iowa and we have a cat...
Plain, cheese, or spicy hamburgers? A cheeseburger with ketchup and GOOD veggies on it.
Favorite dog breed? hmmm there are so many cute ones and seeing that we don't have a dog I guess I can pick a couple of them; I like miniture collies, I like my sister's Great Dane, there are so many other ones too.
Successful Sunday!
Oh...this Sunday was a very nice family day.
Of course there was church. Which celebrated the LAST Sunday in one location and this Wednesday we will be at a new location.
Then there was nap time (me and my son napped) just the same time and apartment not in the same location. I liked taking naps with him when he was little but now that he is on a schedule and he likes naps in his bed or in the car. Me I am neither so napping on me doesn't go very long or very smoothly anymore.
It was a successful family day where we just enjoyed being together. :)
This evening while we were enjoying being a family, we let Ezekiel be free (no diaper!) We had a sheet laying on the floor and bumped up the heat. During that time Z-man of course peed on himself but he also rolled over. He likes to do stuff the hard way around so he rolled from his back to his stomach. Then when he was on his stomach he was "crawling" moved from one side of the blanket to the other side of it. He was using his arms and his legs to pull and push him across the blanket. Of course we don't have any film of it! But I do have some pics of him after the fact. So sorry about the little bottom showing. :)
He was kind of moving so it looks censored already.
