The Winter Gala

Or better known as Med School Prom was on Saturday. We were gracious enough to have a sitter for "Z-Man" SO we ended up going. It was fun to get all dressed AND have a place to go. So we ended up leaving our son in the hands of a sitter and her 2 daughters and hit the road.
It was cold out so we drove around trying to find a parking spot. We ended up finding one really close and Rick spent a good 10-15 minutes getting our oh so romantic mini-van into the spot. It was on the street so it was a parallel parking spot. Which that killed some time so we weren't the first people there.
So at the Gala, they had some great food there...Fruit, Cheese, Crackers, & DESSERTS... They had little cakes out & they had a very HUGE Chocolate Fountain with lots of yummy stuff to dip into the chocolate (Oreo's, pretzels, marshmallows, etc.) I promise you I didn't go over board...after all I made homemade pizza at home so I was really already full.
Seeing that Rick is in his 3rd year of school (and most of the other students are either away on rotations or they are getting ready for a rotation change) a lot of the students there are either 1st or 2nd year. So there was a lot of different people we didn't know. NOW I am involved in our schools club called SOS (Significant Other Support) it's a club done for Significant Others/Spouses of the Medical Students there at DMU. So I did know some people there. But it was a pretty big room so I wasn't able to see all the people I knew. PLUS I was surprised by some of the people that I did see (people away on rotations...like from Michigan who came)
There was a Live Band...but they did play very random music. SO that was very interesting to dance out there (especially seeing as we DON'T know how to dance!) Rick & I agreed that we would really, Really, REALLY would like to take dance lessons some day. I would of rather had a DJ there...who played a nice mix between the faster songs & the slower songs.
The MAIN reason you go (or at least it was for me) was to see my friends from SOS...Here are some pictures of the night!
Rick & I
Ashley, Myself & Joy (fellow knitters & friends)

Darcie & Myself (she is on the SOS board with me, she knits & she watches "Z" for me occasionally)
One of the centerpieces that I wanted to take home

In case you were wondering "Z" had a great night; didn't cry at all & was asleep when we got home!!! YEAH!!!
